Bailor Named Commonwealth Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University junior attack Leah Bailor has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in field hockey for the week ending September 9. Bailor (Richfield, PA/Middleburg H.S.) scored two goals and assisted on three others as the Crusaders posted three victories last week. In a 4-1 win over Scranton, Bailor assisted on the match’s first goal and scored the final tally, then assisted on the game-winner in the final minute of Susquehanna’s 2-1 win at Notre Dame (MD) on Thursday. Bailor capped the week by scoring the tiebreaking goal in the second half of the Crusaders’ 3-1 win over Moravian on Saturday. Bailor is sixth in points per game in the initial Commonwealth Conference statistics with seven points in four games (1.75 average). With two goals and four assists this season, Bailor has moved into sixth on the Susquehanna career goal list (23), third on the career assist list (16), and fourth on the career point list (62). The Crusaders are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 12 at Juniata beginning at 4 p.m.
