ESHLEMAN EARNS VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University freshman middle blocker Kerri Eshleman has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for the week ending September 22.

Eshleman (Landisville, PA/Hempfield H.S.) helped the Crusaders (14-1 overall, 2-0 Commonwealth Conference) extend their winning streak to a school-record 14 straight matches by hitting .325 and averaging 3.73 kills per game in four victories last week.

She recorded 19 kills and hit .486 in a 3-1 win at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, and just missed her first career triple-double with 18 kills, 11 digs and nine blocks as the Crusaders rallied for a 3-2 win over Lycoming on Saturday.

For the season, Eshleman leads the Crusaders in kills (189), blocks (83) and hitting percentage (.309) and ranks among the Commonwealth Conference leaders in hitting percentage (sixth), kills per game (3.63, fifth) and blocks per game (1.60, second).

Susquehanna hosts Elizabethtown in a Commonwealth Conference match on Tuesday night.
