WOMEN'S SOCCER PICKED FOR FIFTH IN CONFERENCE
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Susquehanna University women's soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in the Commonwealth Conference during the upcoming season, as selected by the league's eight coaches. The Crusaders, who finished fifth last fall with a 3-4 league record, are coming off the best season in the seven-year history of the program. The 2000 squad set school single-season records with nine wins (9-6-0) and 36 goals scored. Defending champion Messiah received six first-place votes to earn the top spot in the coaches' survey, followed by Moravian, Elizabethtown and Lebanon Valley. The Crusaders open the 2001 season on Saturday, September 1 against DeSales in the Ursinus Tournament.
