Bailor Named Commonwealth Field Hockey Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, PA – For the second time this season, Susquehanna University senior attack Leah Bailor has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in field hockey, the conference announced Monday.

Bailor (Sunbury, PA/Middleburg H.S.) scored two goals and dished out an assist as the 12th-ranked Crusaders extended their winning streak to a school-record 12 straight wins with victories over Lebanon Valley and Widener.

Bailor tallied her second goal of the match with 7:56 left in the second overtime to give the Crusaders a 3-2 win over Lebanon Valley on Tuesday afternoon, setting a program record with her 44th career goal and equaling the single-season mark with her 15th of the season. She added an assist in the Crusaders’ 3-1 win at Widener on Saturday.

For the season, Bailor leads the Crusaders with 15 goals and eight assists for 38 points, and is Susquehanna’s career leader with 44 goals, 29 assists and 117 points.

The Crusaders (12-1 overall, 3-0 Commonwealth) host 17th-ranked Elizabethtown on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Lopardo Stadium.
