Bailor, Dottery Among Division III Stat Leaders

SELINSGROVE, PA – Two members of Susquehanna University’s nationally-ranked field hockey team are among the latest Division III statistical leaders, through games of September 29.

Senior attack Leah Bailor and junior attack Jodi Dottery are ranked in the top 20 in both goals and points, contributing significantly to a Crusader offense that is 13th in Division III in goals per game with 3.89 per contest.

Bailor (Sunbury, PA/Middleburg H.S.) is tied for 17th with 10 goals and tied for 12th with 25 points, while Dottery (Zionville, PA/Emmaus H.S.) is tied for sixth with 12 goals and tied for 10th with 26 points.

Together, Bailor and Dottery have helped the Crusaders to a 9-1 record and 14th in this week’s STX/NFHCA Division III poll. Susquehanna has won nine straight matches, equaling the second-longest win streak in program history.

As a team, the Crusaders rank 15th in scoring defense with a 0.78 goals against average, while their margin of victory of 3.11 goals in 10th-best in Division III. Entering the week, Susquehanna’s .889 winning percentage was good enough for a sixth-place tie in the rankings.

The Crusaders return to action next Tuesday with a 4 p.m. home match against Muhlenberg.
