Field Hockey Ranked 14th in Division III
SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University field hockey team moved up one spot to 14th in this week’s STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III poll, through games of September 29. The Crusaders (9-1) extended their winning streak to eight games with victories over Notre Dame (Md.) and Albright last week, and added their ninth straight win on Tuesday with a 2-1 win at Scranton. The nine-game winning streak equals the second-longest streak in program history, which spanned the 1998 and 1999 seasons. The top six teams remain unchanged from last week’s poll, as The College of New Jersey (8-0) holds the top spot followed by Rowan (7-0), defending champion SUNY Cortland (6-1), Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah (6-2) and Salisbury (8-1). Lebanon Valley, also a member of the Commonwealth Conference, moved up to eighth with a record of 6-2. Susquehanna will host Muhlenberg next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
