Field Hockey Remains 12th in Division III Poll

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University field hockey team remains 12th in this week’s STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III poll, through games of October 13.

The Crusaders (11-1) matched the program record of 11 consecutive victories set during the 1992 and 1993 seasons with a 3-2 double-overtime victory over eighth-ranked Lebanon Valley on Tuesday afternoon at Lopardo Stadium. Susquehanna has not lost since a season-opening 2-1 loss at 11th-ranked McDaniel on August 31.

The top 13 spots remain the same in this week’s poll, as top-ranked Rowan (11-0) received 29 of 30 first-place votes to maintain their hold on number one. The College of New Jersey (9-1), defending champion SUNY Cortland (10-1) Salisbury (10-1) and Skidmore (10-1) round out the top five.

Three other Commonwealth Conference teams are in this week’s poll, as Messiah (7-3) checks in at number seven, Lebanon Valley (now 9-3) is eighth and Elizabethtown (8-2) moved up from 20th to 17th.

Susquehanna will travel to Widener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
