Four Named All-South Atlantic Region

SELINSGROVE, PA – Four Susquehanna University field hockey players have been named to the STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South Atlantic Region Team, the NFHCA announced Monday.

Senior attacks Leah Bailor and Katie McKeever and junior attack Jodi Dottery were first-team selections while senior goalkeeper Katie Hess was a second-team choice.

The quartet helped the Crusaders to a 17-4 overall record and the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. Along the way, Susquehanna set program single-season records for victories (17), longest winning streak (15), highest national ranking (7th) and goals scored (66).

Bailor (Sunbury, PA/Middleburg H.S.) led the Commonwealth Conference with 22 goals and set single-season program records for goals, assists (12) and points (56). Seven of her 22 goals were game-winners, while her 56 points ranked second in the conference behind Danae Chambers of Messiah (58).

A two-time South Atlantic Region first-team selection, Bailor concluded her Susquehanna career as the program leader in goals (51), assists (35) and points (137).

McKeever (Norristown, PA/Methacton H.S.) recorded 11 goals and three assists for 25 points this season to rank third on the squad in both goals and points. McKeever ended her Crusader career ranked third in goals (32), fifth in assists (13) and fourth in points (87).

Dottery (Zionville, PA/Emmaus H.S.) finished third in the Commonwealth Conference with 17 goals and added four assists for 38 points in her first season as an attack. Dottery is seventh in program history in both goals (18) and points (44).

Hess (Darnestown, MD/Connelly School of Holy Child) started all 21 games in goal for the Crusaders and fashioned a 17-4 record with a 1.18 goals against average and a .808 save percentage. She recorded four solo shutouts and finished second in the Commonwealth Conference in goals against average.

In 1858 career minutes spanning 36 games, Hess finished with a 1.05 goals against average and a record of 19-5.
