Collier Named Men's Soccer Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University freshman midfielder Chris Collier is the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in men’s soccer for the week ending October 5, becoming the first player in program history to earn the award.

Collier (Allentown, NJ/North Burlington Regional H.S.) scored the game-winning goal off a goalmouth scramble with 26 seconds left to give the Crusaders a 1-0 win at Juniata on Tuesday afternoon. The victory improved Susquehanna to 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference for the first time in program history.

Collier, who scored two goals in a span of 40 seconds in Susquehanna’s 2-1 win over Penn State Behrend on September 22, is third on the team with three goals in 11 matches, including six starts.

The Crusaders (7-4 overall) will shoot for their fourth straight victory on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at York College.
