Eshleman Named Volleyball Player of the Week
SELINSGROVE, PA – Sophomore middle blocker Kerri Eshleman has been named the Commonwealth Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending September 15, the conference announced Monday. Eshleman (Landisville, PA/Hempfield H.S.) earned Player of the Week honors for the third time in her career after hit .417 and averaged 3.92 kills per game. She committed just three hitting errors in 115 attacks and posted double figures in kills in three matches as Susquehanna won all four matches last week. Eshleman, the 2001 Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year and first-team All Star, posted nine kills in 20 attacks in a 3-0 win over Cedar Crest on Wednesday, and followed with 42 kills in three matches at Baptist Bible on Saturday, including 15 kills without an error in 31 attacks in a 3-0 win over Lycoming. She added 14 digs and 13 blocks during the week. The Crusaders (8-4) have won six straight matches and will host Messiah on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
