Eshleman Named Commonwealth Player of the Week

SELINSGROVE, PA – For the second time this season and the fourth in her career, Susquehanna University sophomore middle blocker Kerri Eshleman has been named the Commonwealth Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending November 3, the conference announced Monday.

Eshleman (Landisville, PA/Hempfield H.S.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic after recording 108 kills and hitting .431 in 18 games at the tourney as the Crusaders (18-13) closed out the season with four wins in five matches and a second-place finish to Moravian.

She tied the program single-match record with 27 kills against Salisbury in pool play, and recorded at least 15 kills in all five matches in the tournament. In six matches for the week, Eshleman averaged 6.1 kills and 1.7 blocks while hitting .434, and for the year finished with school records for kills (427) and solo blocks (134) while ranking second in the Commonwealth Conference with a .354 hitting percentage.
