Gleason, Snader Among MAC Cross Country Leaders
SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University’s men’s cross country team has two runners among the top five in the latest Middle Atlantic Conference rankings, through September 29. Junior Ryan Gleason (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop H.S.) has the fastest time in the MAC this season at 25:38.67 while sophomore Tyson Snader (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township H.S.) is ranked fifth among all performances in 8,000-meter races with a time of 26:47.63. Both runners established their marks in last Saturday’s Tidewater Invitational, hosted by Salisbury University, and held on the site of next month’s NCAA Mideast Regional meet. Last season, Gleason finished 13th at the regional meet and earned a trip to the NCAA championships, where he finished in 85th place. Gleason, who finished seventh in the MAC championships as a freshman and fifth last season, took second place overall at the Tidewater Invitational while Snader placed 20th overall but 14th among all Division III runners in the field of 181. Snader took 24th at the MAC championships as a freshman, but figures to have an advantage at this year’s championships, which will be run in his hometown’s Lancaster County Park and hosted by Elizabethtown on November 2. The Crusaders will run in the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday beginning at 10:45 a.m.
