Crusaders Place Four on All-Commonwealth Field Hockey Team

SELINSGROVE, PA – Four Susquehanna University field hockey players have been named All-Commonwealth Conference in voting by the league’s eight head coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Senior defender Jodie Dagle was the Crusaders’ lone first-team selection while senior attack Jodi Dottery, sophomore midfielder Caitlin Meara and sophomore defender Shelley Reppert were named to the second team. All four players are first-time members of the All-Conference team.

Together, they helped the Crusaders finish 10-7 overall and in fifth place in the conference standings with a 4-3 league mark under first-year head coach Amy Zimmerman.

Dagle (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove H.S.) led a Crusader defense that held the opposition to two goals or less in 15 of the team’s 17 games. Dagle also scored two goals on penalty strokes and was credited with two defensive saves.

A four-year regular and three-year starter, Dagle finished her career with seven defensive saves in 73 games.

Dottery (Zionsville, PA/Emmaus H.S.) scored six goals and added an assist for 13 points in 17 games. She finished the season by scoring in each of the Crusaders’ final four matches, netting five goals including a pair of game winners.

For her career, Dottery scored 24 goals and added nine assists for 57 points in 67 games to rank seventh in program history in both goals and points.

Meara (Wilmington, DE/Concord H.S.) tallied two goals and three assists for seven points in 17 games, including two goals and an assists for five points in seven league games. She recorded at least one shot in 14 of 17 games and scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Elizabethtown on September 25.

In two seasons as a starter, Meara has eight goals and eight assists for 24 points, with five of her goals standing up as game-winners.

Reppert (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg H.S.), the conference’s co-Rookie of the Year with Aftan Fisher of Messiah in 2002, started all 17 matches and, along with Dagle, helped the Crusaders finish the season with a 1.28 goals against average and six shutouts.
