Field Hockey 20th in Latest D-3 Coaches Poll
SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University field hockey team is ranked 20th in this week’s STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III poll, through games of September 14. The Crusaders (2-1), who have been ranked nine straight weeks dating to last season, were ranked 19th in the September 6 poll prior to a 1-0 loss at 10th-ranked Muhlenberg in the team’s only match during the week. Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah (3-0) climbed from second to first in this week’s poll following a loss by top-ranked College of New Jersey. The Falcons received 23 of 40 first-place votes to edge Rowan (3-0) and Salisbury (4-0) for the top spot in the rankings. Other Susquehanna opponents ranked in the poll include McDaniel (5-0) in fifth, Lebanon Valley (3-1) in eighth and William Smith (1-2) in 18th place. The Crusaders travel to King’s on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
