Snyder Named Commonwealth Men's Soccer Player of the Week
SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University freshman midfielder Nate Snyder has been named the Commonwealth Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week for the week ending November 1, the conference office announced Monday. Snyder (Catawissa, PA/Southern Columbia H.S.) scored two goals and added an assist to help the Crusaders defeat Widener 4-0 on Saturday to secure the first conference playoff berth in the program’s 45-year history. After assisting on the game’s first goal by senior Brandon Emery in the 19th minute, Snyder scored in the 22nd minute and added a penalty-kick tally in the 67th minute to give Susquehanna a 3-0 lead. He has taken the team lead in scoring with seven goals and five assists for 19 points, good for a tie for seventh in the Commonwealth Conference in goals and a tie for sixth in points. The Crusaders (8-9-1 overall, 4-3 Commonwealth) earned the number-four seed in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs and will play at top-seeded and defending national champion Messiah (15-2-2 overall, 6-0-1 Commonwealth) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
