Nevins Named Commonwealth Player of the Week
SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University junior forward Lindsay Nevins has been honored as the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in women’s soccer after leading the Crusaders to a pair of victories last week. Nevins (Basking Ridge, NJ/Gill-St. Bernards H.S.) scored two goals and added two assists as the Crusaders defeated Dickinson and Wittenberg to extend their winning streak to four games. She scored the game-winner in the 86th minute to lead Susquehanna to a 3-2 win over Dickinson on Wednesday after giving the Crusaders a 2-0 lead with a 60th minute tally. On Sunday, Nevins assisted on Susquehanna’s third and fourth goals late in the first half as the Crusaders took a 4-1 lead at intermission before holding on for the win. For the season, Nevins has five goals and three assists for 13 points to rank second on the team and in the Commonwealth Conference in scoring to teammate Jess Paulshock. Susquehanna (5-1 overall) travels to King’s on Wednesday at 4:00.
