Men's Cross Country Ranked 8th in Region

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University men’s cross country team is ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division III Mideast Region Coaches Poll, released Monday.

The Crusaders finished first in the 18-school James Early Invitational at Westfield State (Mass.) on Saturday with senior Ryan Gleason winning the 8,000-meter race with a time of 25:24.80, sophomore Jadrien Deibler coming in fourth with a time of 26:52.50 and freshman Kyle Snyder taking fifth with a time of 26:58.40.

Gleason, a two-time NCAA Division III championship participant, has competed in three races this season. In addition to his first-place finish at Westfield State, he took first place at Bucknell and claimed second place at Penn State.

Haverford sits atop the Mideast Region rankings, followed by Elizabethtown, Carnegie Mellon, Messiah and Widener. Allegheny is ranked sixth with Swarthmore, Susquehanna, Dickinson and Scranton rounding out the top 10.

The Crusaders will compete at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning.
