WQSU to Air Crusader Football in 2006
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University football fans will once again be able to follow the Crusaders this season with live play-by-play broadcasts on WQSU-FM (88.9), Susquehanna's 12,000-watt student radio station.
In addition, fans will be able to listen to the games online via the WQSU Web site at www.wqsu.com.
WQSU will broadcast the entire 10-game Susquehanna football schedule, both home and away, beginning with the season opener on Saturday at Ursinus and continuing through the regular-season finale against Lycoming on Nov. 11.
Coverage will begin each week 30 minutes before kickoff with The Coach's Corner, featuring a 20-minute review and preview of each Crusader game with Susquehanna head football coach Steve Briggs. Live coverage from the game site will begin immediately following The Coach's Corner.
Veteran area sports broadcaster/journalist and longtime Crusader play-by-play man Jack Burns of Mifflinburg will call the action with color commentary from members of the WQSU sports staff.
WQSU received first-place honors from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters' Association (PAPBA) in the small market category for its play-by-play coverage of Crusader football in 2005.
