Freshman Phenom Earns MAC Honors

James Caldwell Grad McMahon MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Closes Season by Breaking School Record for Shutouts, Saves

SELINSGROVE, (Pa.) – Susquehanna University freshman goalkeeper Dorn McMahon of Caldwell, N.J. (James Caldwell H.S.) is the MAC Commonwealth Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. She set new school single-season records for saves (172) and shutouts (6), while making 10 saves in the season-ending 4-0 win at King's last Thursday.

McMahon started all 16 games this season and allowed just 25 goals while making the 172 saves for a .873 save percentage and 1.49 goals-against mark. She led the Commonwealth Conference in save percentage while ranking third in goals-against average as of the last statistical rankings on October 17.

"Dorn's been one of the leaders back on defense and has really made some big saves when she's needed to," said Susquehanna first-year head coach Jim Findlay, who is in his second year at Susquehanna as men's coach. "She has been such a vocal leader back there and always seems to be in the right position to make the play. The rest of the defense has obviously helped her out, but we've hung around in some games because of her."

McMahon is a theatre arts major and the daughter of Nancy McMahon of West Caldwell.

She helped Susquehanna post a 7-9 record this season, which included a 3-4 record in the Commonwealth Conference.
