Umile Sixth in Division III Save Percentage, Ranked as #1 Goalie in Division III by Lax.com

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna sophomore goalkeeper Giulia Umile is ranked sixth in save percentage in this week's NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse statistics, through games of April 1.

Umile (Blue Bell, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy), a first-team Middle Atlantic Conference All-Star last season as a freshman, has made 106 saves and allowed 60 goals for a save percentage of .639 that would break here own single-season school record of .607 that she set last year. She finished 11th in Division III in save percentage last season and 13th in goals against average at 7.69.

Umile is also rated as the number-one goalie in Division III by Lax.com with a rating of 76.05. Goalie rating is calculated by multiplying save percentage by total saves, and her figure is 20 points higher than the second-place total among all Division III keepers.

Earlier this season, Umile set yet another school record with 26 saves in a 6-4 overtime victory at Widener on March 17, a performance that resulted in MAC Player of the Week honors for the Crusader goalkeeper. For the season, her performance has helped the Crusaders to a 5-3 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the MAC, which leaves Susquehanna in sole possession of first place in the league standings.

The Crusaders will look to extend their home winning streak to eight games when Lycoming visits on Thursday at 4 p.m. Susquehanna has won 14 of its last 16 games at the West Lacrosse Field over the last three seasons.
