Umile Ranked Among NCAA Stat Leaders
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior goalkeeper Giulia Umile is ranked among the NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse statistical leaders in both goals against average and save percentage, through games of April 7. Umile (Blue Bell, PA/Gwynedd Mercy Academy) is tied for 21st in goals against average at 7.00 and is 21st in save percentage with a .592 mark for the Crusaders (7-2 overall, 4-0 Middle Atlantic Conference). Umile has been nationally ranked in both save percentage and goals against average in all three years of her career at Susquehanna. Last season, she finished third in Division III in save percentage and 11th in goals against average, while as a freshman she placed ninth in both categories. In her career, Umile has played every minute of 42 games and led the Crusaders to a 32-10 record while posting a 7.31 goals against average and a save percentage of .618. Her 503 career saves are a Susquehanna record, while she is on pace to break her own single-season goals against average mark of 7.12 set last season. In addition to Umile, the Crusaders are ranked as a team in five different categories. Susquehanna ranks 13th in draw controls per game (10.67), 15th in ground balls per game (33.56), 17th in winning percentage (.778), tied for 21st in goals against average (7.00) and 22nd in scoring margin (4.67). The Crusaders will host MAC rival Lycoming on Thursday at 4 p.m on the West Lacrosse Field.
