Nadler, Umile Named to North/South Lacrosse Squads
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University lacrosse standouts Andy Nadler and Giulia Umile have been named North/South Senior All-Stars after concluding record-setting careers for the Crusader men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. Umile will play in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III All-Star Game on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Loyola College in Baltimore, while Nadler was chosen as an alternate to the STX/United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III All-Star Game on Saturday at noon at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Umile (Blue Bell, PA/Gwynedd Mercy Academy) is the third consecutive Susquehanna player selected to participate in the prestigious game, following Liz Cipoletti in 2002 and Erin Powell in 2001. Nadler (Westport, CT/Staples H.S.) is the first player in the four-year history of the Crusader men’s program to be named to the North/South squad. Umile, a two-time regional All-American and a four-time Middle Atlantic Conference first-team All-Conference selection, finished third in the MAC in goals against average (9.56) and save percentage (.534) while playing every minute of every game for the fourth consecutive season. Umile, who joined Sandy Jenkin (1996-99) as a four-time first-team all-MAC selection, compiled a 45-19 career record with an 8.17 goals against average and a .592 save percentage in 3,899 minutes of action – all school career records. Nadler was named first-team All-MAC in men’s lacrosse after he ranked fifth in the MAC in goals and fourth in the conference in points per game at 4.46, while breaking his own school record with 125 ground balls as the Crusaders set a program record with 141 goals this season. A four-year starter for the Crusaders, Nadler finished his career with school records for goals (105), points (154), ground balls (414) and shots (296). He also shares the single-game record for goals (7) and holds the mark for ground balls in a game (18).
