SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University senior shortstop Shana Lalo has been named the Commonwealth Conference softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 12 the third time in her career that she has earned the honor.

Lalo (Bethlehem, PA/Northampton H.S.) went 5-for-7 with four runs batted in as the Crusaders swept Lebanon Valley in their first home doubleheader of the season on Sunday. She went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in as Susquehanna downed the Dutchmen 8-0 in the opener, the finished 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in a 7-2 win in the nightcap.

For the season, Lalo leads the Crusaders in batting average (.477), hits (21), doubles (4), slugging percentage (.614) and on-base percentage (.531). She ranks third in the Commonwealth Conference in both batting average and slugging percentage and is fourth in on-base percentage.

In her career, Lalo is tied for fourth in program history with 118 hits, tied for fifth with 33 walks and ranks 10th with a .352 batting average.

Susquehanna (5-6-1 overall, 3-3 Commonwealth) hosts Moravian on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference twinbill.
