Bartosic Named Third-Team Preseason All-American

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University junior split end Mark Bartosic has been named a third-team Preseason All-American by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette.

Bartosic (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy H.S.) is a two-time Middle Atlantic Conference first-team All-Star and was a third-team Football Gazette All-South selection last season after finishing second in the MAC with 72 catches for 1,190 yards and 13 touchdowns.

After just two seasons with the Crusaders, Bartosic is Susquehanna’s single-season and career leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He enters the 2002 season with 123 catches for 2,218 yards and 28 touchdowns in 20 career games, including 14 100-yard games and touchdown receptions in 18 games.

The Crusaders finished with a 4-6 overall record last season and 4-5 in the Middle Atlantic Conference under head coach Steve Briggs, whose 13th season will begin on Saturday, September 14 with a non-conference game against McDaniel at Lopardo Stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m.
