Nash Named Second-Team Preseason All-American

SELINSGROVE, PA – Susquehanna University senior defensive back Antonio Nash has been named a second-team Preseason All-American by D3football.com, the Web site announced Tuesday.

Nash (Washington, DC/Springbrook, Md. H.S.), a three-time Middle Atlantic Conference first-team All-Star, led the Crusaders and tied for fourth in the MAC last season with six interceptions while adding 76 tackles and 11 pass breakups. Nash also ranked among the MAC leaders in both punt and kickoff returns last season, averaging 10.1 yards per punt return and 20.9 yards per kickoff return.

A co-captain, Nash enters his senior season tied for second in Susquehanna history with 19 interceptions, just seven picks shy of the mark of 26 set from 1988-91 by Cory Mabry. As a freshman, Nash tied the school record with 10 thefts to earn consensus All-American honors.

Nash, a two-time Verizon Academic All-District selection, graduated cum laude from Susquehanna in May with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.

The Crusaders finished with a 4-6 overall record last season and 4-5 in the Middle Atlantic Conference under head coach Steve Briggs, whose 13th season will begin on Saturday, September 14 with a non-conference game against McDaniel at Lopardo Stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m.
