Clementoni Earns Player of the Week HonorsAverages 19.5 Points, 9.5 Boards as Crusaders Secure Playoff Berth
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University senior forward Leslie Clementoni has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for the week ending February 11, the conference office announced Monday. Clementoni (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville H.S.) averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds as the Crusaders (15-7 overall, 9-3 Commonwealth Conference) defeated Lebanon Valley 85-74 on Tuesday and knocked off Elizabethtown 57-45 on Saturday to clinch a berth in next week's Commonwealth Conference playoffs. She scored 22 of her game-high 25 points in the second half to help the Crusaders knock off Lebanon Valley and lock up a postseason berth, and added team highs of 14 points and nine rebounds in Saturday's win over regionally-ranked Elizabethtown. In the two wins, Clementoni shot 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the field and connected on 13-of-18 attempts (72.2 percent) from the free-throw line. She ranks third on the team in scoring at 9.6 points per game and second in rebounding at 6.6 boards per contest. It is the third time in Clementoni's career that she has earned the conference's Player of the Week award. The Crusaders will begin the regular season's final week with an 8 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game at Juniata on Wednesday night.
