Kern Ranked 17th In Division III in Rebounding

Crusader Women's Hoops Standout Leads Commonwealth Conference in Boards

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University senior center Karyn Kern ranks 17th in Division III in rebounds per game with an average of 11.4 through games of January 14, according to this week's NCAA statistical report.

Kern (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley H.S.) leads the Commonwealth Conference in boards as well with a total of 148 rebounds in Susquehanna's first 13 games. Kern has added 17 rebounds in two games this week and is just 36 boards shy of breaking the Susquehanna record for career rebounds of 996 set from 1991 to 1995 by Megan Lytle.

Kern leads the Crusaders (10-5 overall, 4-2 Commonwealth Conference) and is ranked among the top five in the conference in scoring (15.7 points per game), field goal percentage (53.8 percent) and blocked shots (1.4 per game) in addition to her rebounding totals.

Susquehanna will be back in action on Saturday, January 20 with a 6 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game at Albright.
