REAM EARNS COMMONWEALTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University junior guard Alison Ream was named the season’s first Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball, the conference announced Monday.

Ream (Mifflintown, PA/Juniata H.S.) was named the Most Valuable Player of the Pepsi/Weis Markets Tip Off Tournament after leading the host Crusaders to wins over UMass-Dartmouth and Grove City last weekend.

She scored 12 points, pulled six rebounds and dished out four assists in 16 minutes in the a 92-52 opening-round rout of UMass-Dartmouth, then posted game highs of 15 points, six rebounds and five steals in a 54-48 championship-game win over Grove City.

Ream leads the Crusaders (2-0) in scoring (13.5 points per game), rebounding (6.0 per game) and steals (4.0 per game).

The Crusaders will host Ursinus on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Houts Gymnasium.
