SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University senior guard Nick Griffiths has been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference men’s basketball honor roll for the week ending December 7, the conference office announced Monday.

Griffiths (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin Area H.S.) averaged 17.0 points and shot 73 percent from three-point range as the Crusaders opened Commonwealth Conference play with wins over two-time defending champion Elizabethtown (81-63 on Wednesday) and preseason #2 pick Moravian (81-70 on Sunday).

Griffiths scored 24 points against the Blue Jays, exactly the number he needed to become the 28th player in school history with 1,000 points, by shooting 6-for-7 from behind the arc and 9-for-12 overall. He added 10 points and three assists while nailing two threes as the Crusaders used a big second half to defeat Moravian.

For the season, Griffiths is averaging 11.5 points per game and shooting 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from three-point range for the Crusaders (5-1 overall, 2-0 Commonwealth).

Susquehanna returns to action on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Goucher.
