Mills Earns Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week Honors

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – For the second time in three weeks, Susquehanna University junior forward Bubba Mills has been named the Commonwealth Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 25, the conference announced Monday.

Mills (Reading, PA/Reading Central Catholic H.S.) averaged 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds to lead the Crusaders to victories over Juniata (71-68) and Widener (78-56) in Commonwealth action last week.

He recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the Crusaders’ come-from-behind win over Juniata on Wednesday, then finished with 10 points and seven boards to help Susquehanna recorded its most lopsided win ever against the Pioneers on Saturday in Chester.

For the season, Mills is third on the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game and second on the squad with an average of 6.6 rebounds per game. He ranks seventh in the conference in rebounding and is 10th in the league in field-goal percentage at 51.2 percent.

The Crusaders (12-4 overall, 4-2 Commonwealth) host Albright on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
