Sander, Crusaders Among NCAA Stat Leaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University senior center Phil Sander is ranked among the NCAA Division III leaders in both field-goal percentage and blocked shots per game, according to the latest statistics report through games of January 11.

In addition, the Crusaders remain ranked as a team in the top 10 in both field-goal percentage and three-point field-goal percentage. Susquehanna is third in three-point percentage at 45.1 percent and sixth in field-goal percentage at 51.2 percent.

Sander (Hancock, NY/Walton Central H.S.) is third in Division III in field-goal percentage for the second straight week at 70.4 percent (69-for-98), trailing Danny Nawrocki of Johns Hopkins (77.5 percent) and Jon Konselman of Baptist Bible (73.4 percent).

He also ranks 45th in blocked shots with an average of 1.8 per game, having rejected 22 shots through 12 games.

The Crusaders (10-3 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth Conference) host Lebanon Valley (9-4 overall, 3-0 Commonwealth) on Saturday at 3 p.m. in O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
