Reed Honored as Women's DIII News Coach of the Month
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University head women's basketball coach Jim Reed has been honored by Women's DIII News as its Coach of the Month for November after leading the Crusaders to victories in his first three games as the team's head coach.
Reed subsequently guided the Crusaders to a 4-0 start with a 61-55 overtime win at Juniata on Wednesday night for the best start by a first-year Susquehanna head coach and the team's best start since opening the 1999-00 season with a 5-0 record.
During the month, the Crusaders allowed an average of 44 points per game and held opponents to 31.7 percent shooting from the field in their four victories.
Reed, who served as an assistant coach in both the men's and women's programs during the early 1990s, returned to Susquehanna in September after four seasons as head coach at Wilkes University.
The Crusaders will be back in action on Saturday when they host Widener at 1:00 p.m. at O.W. Houts Gymnasium.
