Robinson Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week
SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University junior guard Josh Robinson was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for his performance during the week ending November 19, the Web site announced Wednesday.
Robinson (Mahwah, NJ/River Dell) averaged 31.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 61.8 percent from the field to earn Most Valuable Player honors as the Crusaders won the Pepsi/Weis Markets Tip-Off Tournament with victories over Penn College (105-60) and King's (98-97 in overtime).
Robinson set an O.W. Houts Gymnasium record by scoring 52 points in Susquehanna's victory over King's in the championship game, breaking the facility record of 47 points set by Dave Freysinger of Dickinson in 1981 and the tournament record of 46 points set by the Crusaders' Tres Wolf against New Jersey City in 1993.
In the game, he shot 17-for-28 from the field, including 7-for-14 from three-point range, and sank 11-of-13 foul shots while also recording game highs of seven rebounds and six assists. Robinson scored 20 first-half points, 24 second-half points and eight overtime points in the victory.
Against Penn College , he played just 10 first-half minutes and scored 11 points to help the Crusaders rout the Wildcats.
Through three games, Robinson is averaging 31.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists and is shooting 62.7 percent (32-for-51) from the field for the Crusaders (3-0), who return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 29 in their Commonwealth Conference opener at Elizabethtown.
