SELINSGROVE, PA -- Senior swimmer Kelly Leighton (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Meyers) was named the Landmark Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for her performance in a tri-meet against King's and conference foe Drew on Saturday.

Leighton, a tri-captain, posted two individual event wins to help her team claim victories over King's and Drew, raising the team's record to 6-3, 3-1 in the Landmark. Both of her times in the victories were lifetime bests.

She set a new personal best in a time of 11:38.04 in the 1,000 freestyle to earn the victory, and then was also victorious in the 500 freestyle by recording a time of 5:41:31.

The Athlete of the Week selections are made by the Landmark Conference office. The conference chooses athletes of the week in men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming/diving during the winter sports seasons.
