Becoming A RegularHarrington Makes D3hoops.com's Team of Week for Second Time in Three WeeksSELINSGROVE, (Pa.) – Susquehanna University sophomore small forward Amy Harrington (Danville/Danville H.S.) is on the D3hoops.com national Team of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Also chosen for the MAC Honor Roll and the WQSU-FM Crusader Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Harrington averaged 22.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game – also breaking the school record for three-point field goals in a season (now 25 of 82) as her team went 2-1. The Crusader women beat non-conference Muhlenberg (71-66) and Commonwealth foe Albright (58-55) – losing only a 95-88 overtime classic at conference rival Juniata. The 5-10 Harrington had her best week at Susquehanna – surpassing her career high in scoring twice, also breaking the school record for three-pointers in a season. She scored a career high 26 points while hitting a career high five three-pointers, in 13 attempts, also pulling down seven rebounds in Monday's 71-66 non-conference win over Muhlenberg. She surpassed that career best with 28 points while going 13 of 14 from the free throw line, dishing out a career high five assists and grabbing eight rebounds, in last Wednesday's heartbreaking overtime loss at Juniata. Her three treys in that game gave her a new school season record, now with 25 of 82 (30.5%) (Old Record: 23 of 64, Kristie Maravalli, 1990-91). Harrington followed that by tying for team scoring honors with 12 points, grabbing seven rebounds, including the one she had off her own free throw miss in the closing seconds to preserve that win. "Amy's really stepped up her play for us and is going to be a big key to our success down the stretch. She's one of our primary options offensively and she's starting to really produce consistently in that role," said 13th-year Crusader head coach Mark Hribar. Harrington is a communications and theatre arts major and the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Patricia Harrington. The Crusader women are 10-5 overall, 4-3 and tied for third in the MAC Commonwealth Conference going into their game at first-place Messiah Wednesday at 6 p.m.
