Pepsi Continues to Sponsor Halftime Shootout at All Crusader Home Basketball Games
Final Shootout Winner to Win Bahamas Luxury Cruise; Pepsi Nights Feb. 8-9

SELINSGROVE, (Pa.) - The Pepsi-Cola Company in Selinsgrove is once again sponsoring the Pepsi Halftime Shootout at all Susquehanna University home men's and women's basketball games. All participants throughout the season win six packs of Pepsi products, with the winner of the final shootout at the Pepsi Night men's game vs. Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, February 9 winning a two-night luxury Bahamas cruise from Capital Cruises aboard the SS Dolphin IV.

Three participants are chosen from each halftime shootout and compete against each other through layups, free throws and, if necessary, three-point shots. One winner is determined from each of the 19 shootouts throughout the season, with that winner being invited back to play in the final Pepsi Halftime Shootout on February 9. Winners who return for that game will receive special Pepsi prizes, while competing against one another to win the cruise.

The cruise is for the winner and a guest on dates of their choice and will depart from Port Canaveral, Fla. - home of the Space Shuttle and the closest beach to Orlando and the Disney Theme Parks. The cruise will include gourmet dining-breakfast, lunch, a "Welcome" buffet, "Bon Voyage" and "Bahamas Farewell" dinners, and midnight buffets. The SS Dolphin IV has a full Las Vegas style casino, live calypso and show bands, disco on-deck parties and fine-art auctions, and offers special shore excursions. Special extended stay packages are also available.

Fans attending Susquehanna's University's Pepsi Night women's game on February 8, and men's game February 9 will be treated to free hot dogs and Pepsi, courtesy of the Pepsi-Cola Company in Selinsgrove, Weis Markets, Kunzler's Hot Dogs, the ARAMARK Co., and WKOK/WQKX-Radio. The women's game vs. Lebanon Valley will begin at 7 p.m., with the men's Pepsi Night featuring the junior varsity playing at 6 p.m. and the varsity scheduled for 8.

In addition to the hot dogs and beverages, additional Pepsi prize packages will be given away to certain lucky fans during the games.

Pepsi officials provided funds last season for a new, high-fidelity sound system to be installed in Susquehanna's O.W. Houts Gymnasium.

"We can't thank Pepsi enough for all their sponsorship of Crusader athletics. Their generosity has really helped to improve our facility through the sound system, and also continued to provide some added excitement at our basketball games through the halftime shootouts and the special Pepsi dates," said Susquehanna Director of Athletics Don Harnum. "I think it's safe to say that Pepsi has made a great impact on Crusader athletics."
