A Record and Honors for Anderson

Parkland Grad Named Commonwealth Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week; Breaks SU Career Goals Record

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University junior striker Kim Anderson (Orefield, Pa./Parkland H.S.) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in women's soccer after scoring three goals and dishing out three assists in two league matches last week.

She netted two goals and added an assist in the Crusaders' 6-0 whitewash of Juniata on Tuesday, and added a goal and two helpers as Susquehanna turned away Widener 5-1 on Saturday.

The first of her three goals last week was the 23rd of her career, breaking the previous mark of 22 set by Kristen Riehl from 1994-1997. Earlier this season Anderson broke Riehl's career point record of 49. Through Saturday, Anderson has 25 goals and eight assists for 58 points in just 38 matches in her three-year career.

Anderson leads the Crusaders with seven goals and six assists for 20 points in eight matches this season. Her efforts have helped Susquehanna to the best start in the program's seven-year history as the Crusaders are 7-1 overall (2-0 Commonwealth Conference) through Monday's action.
