Anderson Named Third-Team All-Region in Women's SoccerRecord-Setting Parkland Grad Becomes First Crusader to Earn Regional Honors
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Junior forward Kim Anderson (Baytown, Texas originally from Orefield, Pa./Parkland H.S.) is a member of the 2000 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team, becoming the first player in the seven-year history of the Susquehanna women's soccer program to earn All-Region honors. Anderson set single-season records of 13 goals, seven assists and 33 points in 15 matches for the Crusaders (9-6-0 overall) during the 2000 season. With one season of eligibility remaining, Anderson is already the career leader in points and goals at Susquehanna with 73 points and 31 goals, shattering the previous records of 49 points and 22 goals set in 1997. Anderson was named a Second-Team Commonwealth Conference All-Star during the 2000 season, leading the conference in goals per game (0.87) and ranking second with 2.20 points per game. She scored at least one goal in 10 of Susquehanna's 15 matches and scored two goals on three occasions. She also registered a pair of multi-assist games. She is a marketing major and the daughter of Gwynn and Alan Anderson of Baytown.
