Bartosic Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

Freshman Split End Sets Single-Season SU Records for Yards, TDs

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University freshman split end Mark Bartosic has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 52-33 loss against Moravian.

Bartosic (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy H.S.) caught nine passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns covering 46, 47 and 48 yards. In the process, Bartosic broke the Susquehanna single-season records for receiving yards (893) and touchdowns (13) set in 1987 by Al Bucci. Bartosic now has 43 receptions for 894 yards and 14 scores in just eight games. In addition, he became just the third Susquehanna player to accumulate 200 yards receiving in a game and the first ever to catch three touchdown passes in consecutive weeks.

Susquehanna has been recognized four times this season as part of the D3football.com Team of the Week, as Bartosic joins previous honorees Antonio Nash, Frank Hanlon and the Crusader offensive line.

For his efforts, Bartosic joins sophomore quarterback Mike Bowman (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy H.S.) as this week's Gus Weber Crusader Players of the Week, sponsored by the Golden Corral Family Steak House in Shamokin Dam.

The recipient of the team's Gus Weber Player of the Week has a check of $100 from Golden Corral donated to the charity of his choice, and is the speaker at the team's weekly Quarterback Club Luncheon each Friday at noon in the Shearer Weber Dining Rooms of the Degenstein Campus Center. Bartosic and Bowman will each donate $50 to charity, and will announce their respective recipients later this week.

The Crusaders (5-3 overall, 4-3 MAC) will battle Lycoming (6-1, 6-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at David Person Field in Williamsport.
