Defensive Lineman Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University senior defensive end Frank Hanlon has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance in the Crusaders' 36-29 win over Juniata last Saturday at Lopardo Stadium.

Hanlon (Mahanoy City, Pa./Mahanoy Area H.S.) is also this week's Gus Weber Crusader Player of the Week as presented by the Golden Corral Family Restaurant in Shamokin Dam.

Hanlon posted five solo tackles and recorded a career-high three sacks against Juniata, one of which forced a fumble that was recovered by the Crusaders at the Juniata 40-yard line. Hanlon also played a major role in limiting the Eagles to just 44 yards on 31 carries for the afternoon.

For the season, Hanlon is fourth on the team with 22 tackles, and leads the squad with nine tackles for loss and 4½ sacks in five games for Susquehanna (5-0), ranked 23rd in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll.

The recipient of the team's Gus Weber Player of the Week has a check of $100 from Golden Corral donated to the charity of his choice, and is the speaker at the team's weekly Quarterback Club Luncheon each Friday at noon in the Shearer Weber Dining Rooms of the Degenstein Campus Center. Hanlon will announce his charity later this week.

The Crusaders will travel to 15th-ranked Widener (5-0) on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a crucial Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League contest.
