Sariscak's a Smash for the Crusaders

Severna Park Grad Honored as Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in Volleyball

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University sophomore middle blocker Traci Sariscak (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park H.S.) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week in volleyball for the week ending September 24, the conference announced Monday.

Sariscak averaged 3.23 kills and hit .407 in 13 games as the Crusaders went 2-2 in four matches last week. She posted seven kills in eight attacks in a 3-0 win over Marywood, and led the team with nine kills in a 3-0 win over Albright in Commonwealth Conference action on Wednesday. She closed the week with 14 and 12 kills in losses to Haverford and Dickinson, respectively.

For the season, Sariscak is seventh in the conference in hitting percentage (.304) and is sixth in kills per game (2.78) for the Crusaders, who are 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the Commonwealth Conference.

The Crusaders will return to action on Tuesday, September 26 with a 7 p.m. home match against Lebanon Valley College.
