BOWMAN, NASH REPEAT AS ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT IN FOOTBALL
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Two Susquehanna University football players have earned their second straight selection to the Verizon Academic All-America College Division District II Football Team, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Junior quarterback Mike Bowman and junior defensive back Antonio Nash were named to the 24-member squad and qualify for the national ballot, with the team announced on December 10. Bowman (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy H.S.) is a mathematics major with a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average. The Susquehanna single-season and career leader in attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns and total offense, Bowman is a Dean’s List student and has earned several scholarships. In addition, Bowman works as a math tutor on campus and has done work with both the Northumberland assessor’s office and the finance department of SUN Home Health Services Nash (Washington, DC/Springbrook, MD H.S.) is an accounting major with a 3.33 cumulative grade-point average. He is tied for third in school history with 19 interceptions after leading the team with six this season, and finished second on the team with 76 tackles (53 solo). Nash is a Gates Millennium Scholarship recipient and a Dean’s List student, and is a member of The Brotherhood. Players on the College Division District II team represent NCAA Division II and III schools from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
