WQSU to Air Full Crusader Football Schedule, Select Hoop Games,
Susquehanna in Second Year with TEAMLINE, Provide National Coverage
SELINSGROVE, (Pa.) -- Susquehanna University football and basketball fans will once again be able to follow the Crusaders this season with live play-by-play broadcasts on WQSU-FM, 88.9 on the FM dial, Susquehanna's 12,000-watt student radio station.
But even if fans are out of range of WQSU, or the basketball game they would like to hear is not being broadcast by the station, they will also once again be able to hear all the Crusader football and men's basketball games for a fee because those games will be carried by TEAMLINE of TRZ Sports Services.
WQSU will broadcast the entire 10-game Susquehanna football schedule, both home and away, beginning with the season opener next Saturday, September 4, at home against FDU-Madison. Coverage will begin each week 30 minutes before kickoff with The Coaches' Corner program, which features a 20-minute review and preview of each Crusader game with Susquehanna head football coach Steve Briggs. Live coverage from the game site will begin immediately following.
Veteran area sport broadcaster/journalist Jack Burns of Mifflinburg will team up with a pair of Susquehanna broadcast majors in senior Erik McKinney (Dover/Dover Area H.S.) and WQSU Sports Director and junior Jim Wagner (Shamokin/Shamokin Area H.S.) to provide all the live play-by-play football action. All three will also join in producing The Coaches' Corner, which will be hosted by Susquehanna senior broadcasting major Shannon Cardellina (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville H.S.).
Burns and other Susquehanna students will also describe the play-by-play action of select Susquehanna men's and Crusader women's basketball games on WQSU. Coverage will begin on Saturdays 30 minutes before the game with the basketball The Coaches' Corner program, featuring a review and preview of Crusader men's and women's basketball for the week with men's head coach Frank Marcinek and women's coach Mark Hribar respectively. Live coverage of weekday games will begin 15 minutes before tip-off.
WQSU will also air live action of as many playoff games as possible for all three teams, as well as a select regular-season baseball and softball doubleheader.
Susquehanna's continued association with TEAMLINE offers fans the opportunity to catch the live play-by-play broadcasts of all the Crusader football and men's basketball games this season – as well as select women's basketball, baseball and softball games -- even if they're outside the 12,000-watt radius of WQSU-FM. They can listen to the entire game, or as much as they'd like, from any phone by utilizing the TEAMLINE service, which offers similar arrangements for hundreds of collegiate and professional sports teams nationwide.
All fans need to do is dial 1-800-846-4700, ext. 1787, and charge the broadcast to a major credit card for as little as .15 per minute. A frequent user of TEAMLINE can save up to70 percent by ordering a pre-paid Telephone Season Ticket. They can call TEAMLINE's customer service line at 1-800-225-5321 for more information.
