Stewart Moan, Head Coach

Stewart Moan was named head men's lacrosse coach and director of athletic facilities in the summer of 2007.
Moan came to Susquehanna after serving as head men's lacrosse coach at Oneonta State College, where he compiled a 61-43 record in six seasons as head coach, including a 12-5 mark in 2007. Overall, Moan has 165 victories in 18 seasons as a head coach at the Division III level.
A 1978 graduate of Salisbury University and a 1981 graduate of Morgan State University with a master of science degree in recreation administration, Moan began his collegiate coaching career at Haverford College in 1986, where he spent two years as both head lacrosse and head women's basketball coach.
He then moved to Lynchburg College, where he guided the Hornets to a 67-40 record from 1988 to 1995 including a 12-3 record in 1994 that including a 14th-place ranking in the nation. That year, Moan was selected as head coach for the Division III North/South All-Star game.
After stints as an assistant coach at the Division I level at Duke University (1995-96), Lafayette College (1996-97) and Villanova University (1997-98), Moan became head coach at Marymount University in 1998 and guided the Saints to a 29-22 record in three seasons.
During his tenure at Marymount, he was named Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2000 and led the program to its first-ever national ranking. After moving to Oneonta in 2001, Moan was named SUNYAC Coach of the Year in 2005 and earned his 150th career victory in 2006.
Professionally, Moan has been a member of several NCAA Division III advisory committees, served as regional chair of the Division III All-American committee, was chair of the men's lacrosse sport committee for the CAC and SUNYAC, and has been a featured speaker at the US Lacrosse national convention.
Michael Burns, Assistant Coach

Michael Burns is entering his second year as an assistant lacrosse coach for the Crusaders, continuing his role as defensive coordinator under new head coach, Stewart Moan.
As a player for the Poets of Whittier College in Whittier, Ca., he was a letter winner and played a part in Whittier's defense being ranked third in the nation by U.S. Lacrosse. In addition, he aided in the Poets' defensive efforts allowing the lowest number of goals in Division III nationally during the 2000 season.
Upon his graduation from Whittier, he returned to the east coast as a youth pastor while coaching his local club lacrosse team.
A native of Maryland's eastern shore, Burns attended Queen Anne's County High School. At Queen Anne's his lacrosse team contended for the state 3A/4A title his sophomore, junior and senior years. Burns lettered eight times in lacrosse, wrestling and football throughout his secondary school years.
Burns graduated from Whittier in 2002 earning his B.A. in Child Development and Psychology and is currently working on his M.S. in Psychology at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa.
Jim Mullaley, Assistant Coach

Jim Mullaley, a native of Syracuse, N.Y. and a graduate of West Genesee High school, played midfield and faced-off for the Wildcats. While in high school they went 21-2 and went on to win the Class A New York State Championship.
From high school Mullaley continued on to Mercyhurst College where he was a four year starter for the Lakers. Within these four years at Mercyhurst, Coach Mullaley made three Final Four appearances.
Following his collegiate tenure, Mullaley went on to continue his lacrosse career overseas in the South of England. He played and coached for the Premiership Club Hitchin Orange located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. There he led the team as MVP to their second consecutive league championship victory.
A 2006 graduate from Mercyhurst College, Mullaley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. |
