April 24: Susquehanna sweeps for season finale win Box score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Susquehanna University men's tennis team swept all nine matches to defeat Baptist Bible in the home season finale Thursday.

The Crusaders' ace doubles duo of Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) and Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) picked up an 8-2 win, followed by Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and Kirk McAuliffe (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) with an 8-3 win. Mike Gregg (Oakton, Va./Flint Hill) and Joe Lauver (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) won by default.

In singles, Adams took a 7-5, 6-3 win in the No. 1 slot. Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) dropped his first set but rebounded to win 6-3 and 10-8 to take the No. 2 match. At No. 3 singles, Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) got a 6-3, 6-2 win.

The final three singles matches all went to the Crusaders as Gregg won 6-0, 6-4 and Lauver got a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Prescott then took the final match by default.


April 15: Colonels down Crusaders, 8-1 Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Junior Andrew Symonette (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends School) captured the Crusaders only victory of the day as he defeated Wilkes' Brandon Pauling by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 in No. 6 singles.

On the sunny Tuesday afternoon, Wilkes swept the initial doubles matches 8-1, 8-5 and 8-3 and continued to dominate during the singles competition, winning the top five matches to keep their all-but-perfect record alive.

With the defeat, Susquehanna fell to 2-10 (2-5 Landmark), while Wilkes improved to 13-2 overall.


April 13: Susquehanna falls to Catholic, 7-2 Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men’s tennis team dropped a 7-2 match to Landmark Conference opponent, the Catholic University of America on Sunday.

Earning their two wins, the Crusaders were victorious in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Senior Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) and freshman Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) defeated Andrew Kracht and John Dillon in a close 9-8 decision at the No. 1 spot. With the win, Adams and Mellor found themselves a top spot in the conference with a record of 5-1 in Landmark play.

In No. 2 doubles, Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) and Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) won their match 8-2 against Michael Schinella and Michael Reany to tally the Crusaders second, and final, win of the day.

Susquehanna rallied in a number of the singles matches on the day, however fell just short allowing a Cardinal sweep of all six.


April 10: Susquehanna edges Goucher Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men’s tennis team earned a close Landmark Conference win over Goucher College Thursday. The Crusaders took three of the singles matches and two in doubles for the 5-4 win.

In No. 1 singles, Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) defeated Michael Brooks in a hard-fought match, 7-6 (7-0), 7-6 (2-0). Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) and Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) earned straight-sets wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles.

Adams and Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) picked up another win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Brooks and Steve Baum 8-4. Kirk McAuliffe (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) and Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.


April 8: Crusaders fall to Juniata in conference match Box Score

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men’s tennis team dropped a Landmark Conference match to Juniata College Tuesday afternoon in Huntingdon.

The No. 1 doubles team was again the winning combination for the Crusaders, as Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) and Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) defeated Arnab Chakrabarti and Jarrad Silver, 9-7.

Susquehanna's Nos. 2 through 4 singles played tough, taking each Eagle to a third-set tiebreaker. Kirk McAuliffe (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) waged a hard-fought battle with Chakrabarti, winning the first set and taking the final set to an 11-9 tiebreak.

April 6: Crusaders drop match to Rangers in Landmark Conference play Box Score

MADISON, N.J. – The Susquehanna men’s tennis team fell to the Rangers of Drew University 8-1 in Landmark Conference action on Sunday afternoon.

The sole Crusader win came in No. 1 doubles as Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) and Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) defeated Jon Pivor and Jason Woods, 8-6.

In close range of a win, Susquehanna’s Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) fell 6-2 in the first set and took the second 5-7 over Ranger opponent Jon Pransky, before Pransky captured the win taking the super tie-breaker,13-11, at No. 4 singles.


April 2: Crusaders fall to Penn State Harrisburg in non-conference play Box Score

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Susquehanna men's tennis team fell to Penn State Harrisburg 6-3 in non-conference tennis action Wednesday afternoon.

The Crusader wins came at No. 3 doubles as the team of Tyler Rush (Line Lexington, Pa./North Penn) and Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) defeated the Lions' Alex Herr and Justin Berner 8-5.

Despite taking the loss, the No. 1 doubles duo of Todd Adams (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) and Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) played tough, but fell 8-7 after suffering a 7-5 loss in the tie breaker.

In singles action Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) defeated Phil Jarkington 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 match, while Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) came from behind to beat Mikhael Joseph 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in No. 4 singles.


March 29: Crusaders fall to Scranton in conference play Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Susquehanna men's tennis team fell to the University of Scranton 8-1 in Landmark Conference tennis action Saturday.

The Crusader win came at No. 3 doubles as the team of Kirk McAuliffe (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) and Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) defeated the Royals' Michael Killeen and Tim Moore 8-3.

Despite taking the loss, freshman Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) played tough at No. 4 singles, coming back to win game two but falling 10-5 in game three.


March 24: Moravian 7, Susquehanna 2 Box Score

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Crusaders fell to the Greyhounds of Moravian College on Monday afternoon in Landmark Conference tennis action, 7-2.

At Hoffman Courts, Susquehanna's two victories came in singles action as Tyler Rush (Line Lexington, Pa./North Penn) defeated Keith Feinman in three sets (6-0, 0-6, 7-5) and Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) defeated Matthew Share in two sets (7-6 (9-7), 6-2).

Moravian took the remaining four matches with wins from Ian Box, Jason Bonilla, Chandler Forman and Thomas Turcich. In addition, the Greyhounds swept doubles action as Box and Feinman, Forman and Turchich and Bonilla and Share paired up to defeat the Crusader match-ups.


March 15: Susquehanna 7, USMMA 2 Box Score

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University men’s tennis team opened spring Landmark Conference play with a 7-2 win over the visiting Mariners of the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday.

The Crusaders (1-3 overall, 1-0 Landmark) earned their first win of the year as Todd Adams (Tantasqua Regional) (6-1,6-1), Will Mellor (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) (6-1, 6-1), Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) (6-4, 6-4), Dillon Plunkett (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Ararat) (6-3, 6-1) and Cory Prescott (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) (6-2, 6-1) captured singles victories.

Reinforcing their individual victories, Adams and Mellor teamed up to defeat Geffrey Lerner and Billy Coulter 8-3, while Plunkett and Prescott captured an 8-2 win for Susquehanna.

Patricia Green captured a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles while also partnering with Cesar Henriquez for an 8-4 victory in second doubles play for the Mariners.
