Kathy Kroupa, Head Coach

Kathy Kroupa finished her fifth season as head coach in 2007 after leading the Crusaders to 82-64-1 record in her first four seasons as head coach.
A native of Weston, Connecticut, Kroupa was a four-year starter at first base for Gettysburg from 1992-95, earning first-team Centennial Conference honors as a senior. She also started in goal for the Bullet soccer team and still holds school records for career saves (418) and shutouts (26.5).
She served as head softball coach at Rosemont during the 1997 and 1998 seasons before becoming head coach at Franklin & Marshall in the fall of 1998. In three seasons with the Diplomats, Kroupa posted a 38-46 record before stepping down in July, 2001 when her full-time employer transferred her to Lewisburg.
In addition to her softball duties, Kroupa will begin her second season as head coach of the Crusader women's soccer team in 2007 after leading the squad to a 7-7-3 overall record and a fifth-place finish in the Commonwealth Conference in the fall of 2006. Athletics aside, Kroupa also serves as an advocate for the Sexual Assault Student Support Program and a coordinator for CHAMPS Life Skills Program.
After graduating from Gettysburg in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Kroupa earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Radford in 1998.
Kelly Geise, Assistant Coach

Kelly Geise finished her fifth year as an assistant softball coach at Susquehanna University in 2007.
Geise graduated from Gettysburg College in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in business. She was a standout women's basketball player leading her team to a second place Centennial Conference finish and to the second round of the NCAA tournament during her senior year.
She previously was an assistant softball coach at Rosemont College during the 1997 and 1998 seasons. She has also served as assistant Women's Basketball coach at Ursinus College in 1998 and most recently at Franklin & Marshall College where she was the assistant women's basketball and assistant softball coach from 1999-2002.
This winter, Geise will begin her third season as an assistant coach with the Crusader women's basketball team, after helping the squad to consecutive Commonwealth Conference playoffs in her first two years on staff.
Geise is currently employed by The Edmonds Group and resides in Milton.
Laurie Williams, Assistant Coach

Laurie Williams enters her third year as an assistant coach for the Crusaders in 2008, primarily working with the outfielders.
Williams graduated in 1997 from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in communications. She played four years as an outfielder for the Quakers softball team, twice earning All-Ivy League Second Team Honors in addition to four varsity letters. Williams was also a member of the field hockey team while in college.
In addition to serving as a softball coach, Williams' professional experience involves working for NBA Entertainment for six years which was followed by a two year stint with Little League International where she served as the director for softball development.
She resides in Lewisburg with her husband Rich and their daughter Caitlin.
Laura Streets, Assistant Coach

Laura Streets enters the 2008 season as a first year assistant softball coach at Susquehanna after a standout career at the University of Delaware where she played four years as an infielder. She primarily works with the pitchers and infielders.
During her college career, Streets acquired numerous awards and records. As a captain, she earned Colonial Athletic Association Conference Player of the Year in 2004. In addition, Streets set multiple offensive records as a Blue Hen including greatest number of homeruns, RBIs, doubles and hits.
Following receiving her B.A. in English with a minor in Religious Studies, Streets spent four seasons in Italy playing for the Nuoro Softball Society and coaching for the Porpetto Softball Society. In 2005 she was awarded the summer 2005 Italian Softball Federation Golden Glove for Outstanding Third Baseman in the Italian Professional League. |
