Jim Reed enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Crusaders in 2008-09.

Reed was named as the head women's basketball and head women's golf coach in August 2005 after serving as the head women's basketball coach at Wilkes University since July 2001.

Reed is no stranger to Susquehanna, having served as an assistant women's basketball coach under Mark Hribar for three seasons from 1989-1992 and as a men's basketball assistant under Frank Marcinek for two seasons from 1992-94.

During his previous stint at Susquehanna, Reed also served as an assistant baseball coach from 1991 to 1994 and as the school's head women's tennis coach during the 1993-94 season.

After leaving Susquehanna, Reed was an assistant men's basketball coach at the Division II University of Indianapolis during the 1994-95 season and an assistant girls' basketball coach at Indian Valley High School (Pa.) for three seasons from 1995-98.

In 1998, Reed returned to his alma mater in Division I Bucknell University as an assistant women's basketball coach and helped the Bison to a then-school-record 20 victories during the 2000-01 season before moving on to Wilkes.

Reed graduated from Bucknell in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He worked as a structural engineer for four years before pursuing a career in coaching. He played one season of football as a defensive back at Bucknell and lettered twice in track & field.

Reed is a native of Reedsville, Pa., and is a 1980 graduate of the former Kishacoquillas High School and a 1981 graduate of Mercersburg Academy.
