Price Catches First-Team All-America accolades
SELINSGROVE, Pa.– Crusaders catcher Chris Price (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades) joined 15 others on the D3baseball.com 2008 All-America First Team announced May 20.
Price, a standout sophomore, homered nine times en route to tying Susquehanna’s single-season home run record. He also surpassed Brandon Naples’ 1995 season record of 56 hits with 69 this season. His 46 runs batted in in 2008 put him first in school history on the single-season list, while his 44 runs tie for second-most all-time.
Flirting with a number of all-time records, Price also connected with 14 doubles and two triples, stole 19 bases, recorded a .469 batting average and yielded a potent .966 fielding percentage this year.
The All-America team consists of three teams, plus honorable mention, and was voted on by the D3baseball.com staff, contributors and sports information directors from more than 550 nominations. Jay Enoch of Juniata College and Michael Bzozowski of the Catholic University of America joined Price in representing the Landmark Conference as All-Americans.
