Oct. 5: Susquehanna 4, Lebanon Valley 5 Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. — Senior Matt Mitchell (Millville, N.J./Millville) earned two second-flight wins, but visiting Susquehanna University was edged by Lebanon Valley College, 5–4, at the LVC Tennis Complex on Oct. 5.

Mitchell won his singles match by taking a 6–4, 2–6, 6–0 decision from his Lebanon Valley (1–0 overall) opponent. He teamed with freshman Matthew Quadrini (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) to win at doubles, 8–2.

Also winning for Susquehanna (0–4 overall) were junior Cory Prescott (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and freshman Grant Uber (Biglerville, Pa./Biglerville) at fifth- and sixth-flight singles, respectively, by identical scores of 6–2, 6–2.

 

Sept. 23: Susquehanna 2, Shepherd 7 Box Score

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Freshman Matthew Quadrini (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) stayed undefeated in singles play during his collegiate career, but Susquehanna University fell to host Shepherd University, 7–2, in a men's tennis match on Sept. 23.

Quadrini (3–0 in singles so far for the 2008–09 season) bested his NCAA Division II Shepherd (2–0 overall) opponent at third-flight singles, 6–3, 6–3.

Senior Andrew Symonette (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends School) earned the other win for Susquehanna (0–3 overall) at sixth-flight singles. Symonette beat his Rams opponent in a back-and-forth match decided in a third-set tiebreak, 1–6, 6–2, 10–7.

Shepherd swept the Crusaders in doubles matches to provide the final margin of victory.

 

Sept. 20: Susquehanna 2, PSU-Harrisburg 7 Box Score

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Freshmen Matthew Quadrini (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) and Grant Uber (Biglerville, Pa./ Biglerville) won in fourth- and fifth-flight singles play, respectively, but Susquehanna University fell to host PSU–Harrisburg, 7–2, on Sept. 20.

Quadrini fought for a 6–4, 6–3 win for Susquehanna (0–2 overall) over his Harrisburg (1–0 overall) opponent, but his match looked easy compared to Uber's.

Uber bested his challenger in dramatic three-set fashion, 7–5, 1–6, 13–11.

 

Sept. 14: Susquehanna 3, Misericordia 6 Box Score

DALLAS, Pa. — Freshman Matthew Quadrini (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) picked up two wins, but visiting Susquehanna University fell to Misericordia University, 6–3, on Sept. 14.

Quadrini fought for a 6–2, 3–6, 6–2 fourth-flight singles win over his Misericordia (1–0 overall) opponent. He also teamed with senior Matthew Mitchell (Millville, N.J/Millville) to pick up an 8–4 win for Susquehanna (0–1 overall) in second-flight doubles.

Alec Green (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) made his third-flight singles win look easy by dispatching his opponent, 6–3, 6–2.
