Susquehanna Women's Soccer Season Wrap-Up

(Final Record 6-10-1 overall, 1-4-1 conference)

SELINSGROVE, PA - The Crusader Women's Soccer team wrapped up the 2007 campaign with a 6-10-1 overall record and a 1-4-1 record in the Landmark Conference under second year head coach Kathy Kroupa. The Crusaders started off the year strong posting a total of nine goals to win the first three games of the season. Although the team was comprised of only a handful of seniors, three Crusaders were honored this year with All-Conference accolades.

Junior back Kelly Davitt (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon HS) was named an All-Conference first team selection. Davitt started in all 17 games, assisting in two goals. Fellow classmate Jess Eickhoff (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury HS) was a second team selection. The junior midfielder played in 16 games, making 15 starts. Joining Eickoff on the second team is Sophomore forward Abby Montgomery (Hughesville, Pa. /Hughesville HS). The Pennsylvania native played in all 17 games for the Crusaders making 11 starts, scoring three goals and making two assists.

Among other top team performers is Crusader junior goalie Meredith Tompeck (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS). Tompeck started all 17 games and tallied a total of 77 saves and five shutouts.

The SU Women's soccer team ended their season dropping a 1-0 decision to Catholic University on October 27th . The three Crusader seniors Erin Coffey (Clarksburg, N.J./Allentown HS), Laura Haldeman (Wallkill, N.Y./Wallkill HS), and Lindsey Knowlton (Souderton , Pa. /North Penn) combined for a total of 202 games played over a four year period. This season, Coffey was credited with the game-winning goal on September 15th against King's College.
